Sun Country from MSP to CUN
Has anyone flown on Sun Country Airlines from MSP to CUN via DFW? We have a layover in Dallas but we get off and get back on the same exact plane...... Do we get off the plane in Dallas and get our bags and go through US customs and get back on the same plane? How does this work?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you were changing planes then you would to through US customs first, but if you are continuing on the same flight that changes things. A couple of times I've been on flights that stopped somewhere in the US and we continued on the same plane. In that situation we were ushered into a room and kept there until the plane cleared US customs, then we went back on the plane and cleared customs at our final destination. We had to stay in the room because we were not "officially" in the US, as we had not gone through customs.
I am thinking you will arrive in DFW and you will do as I have done, which is to go into a room and wait for the plane to clear US customs, then continue to MSP and clear customs there.
If you were changing planes that would be completely different. In that situation you would get your bag, clear US customs then drop off your bag and go to your next flight.

On your return home, if you get off the plane in DFW, you will collect your bags, clear US Customs and then recheck your bags and reboard your plane. They are going to off-load all the luggage from the plane in DFW. They won't take the time to sort it and leave some bags on the plane and take others off.
We once were diverted to a small airport for 20 minutes due to a storm front at MSP. The door of the plane was never opened, no one got on or off. The cargo hold was never opened. We were not allowed to continue our flight until we had cleared Customs because our plane had "touched US soil".

Not necessarily TC, as I mentioned in my post above I have been on a couple of trips where I got off the plane but I had to stay in a room while the plane cleared US customs. After an hour or so we re-boarded the plane, continued our journey and cleared customs at the next stop.
