South Africian Air or Delta - Economy

We are traveling to Cape Town in April. We will be flying economy. The travel agent recommends SAA over Delta. Which is really a better inflight experience?? Movies, drinks, food options?
The pricing and scheduling are about the same for us...
The reviews online of SAA are very mixed?
What do you all think?
Thanks so much!

Can you go nonstop on SAA? Delta goes through Dakar on 767's but I believe a nonstop on a 777 will be forthcoming within a year.

The schedules of the flights are very similar. I was more interested in the in flight experience. Which would be more comfortable?
Thanks

SAA should be using a 340-600 for its US service, which have audio-video on demand for all seats.

DL's international 767-300s don't even have personal video screen. Only communal screen above the aisle.

Definitely SSA. More room in economy, better food, great entertainment.

You will get one glass of wine free with Delta and with South African, I had seven free, and that was just going over.

The Airbus with the 2,4,2 seating is very comfortable. I vote for South African Airlines.

I personally think the mixed reviews are because many foreign people are used to flying 5 Star airlines. Delta is a 3 and isn't South African Airlines a 4*?

I've done the SAA flight from JNB to IAD -- it stops in Dakar heading west, though it's a nonstop heading east. Remarkably easy for an 18-hour flight. Better than average economy legroom, excellent VOD. It's got to be better than Delta.

I've flown SAA 2 of the 3 times I've gone to South Africa. It's fine. I've also flown Delta - and other than the differences mentioned, it was fine, too. I would go by price for that choice.... and convenience of times.
