We are flying Skybus in December and wondering what good or bad experiences travelers have had. Specifically, do they really enforce the no food/no drink policy, you can only buy from them? One of us has health issues and will need to bring some protein water on board, something they don't sell, and are worried we will have to put up a fight (or get a DR note). Thanks!

If you're bringing your own, you need a doctor's note to get more than 4oz of liquid through security anyways.
If you get it through security, then it shouldn't be a problem.
* No food or drinks, please. In most cases, Skybus offers these items for sale during your flight, so we ask that you not bring anything on board. The only exception is for passengers who will need food that we're unable to provide, for example baby formula or baby food, special food for those with a medical condition such as diabetes or severe food allergies, or those with dietary restrictions (Kosher, Halal, etc).
Your issue really is going to be getting liquids through security. I've seen them turn back medication - so I don't think they're going to let you take a drink - unless it's under 3 oz and fits in a quart size zip lock bag. There - to my knowledge - are no exceptions (doctor's note doesn't matter). If you need to have that water - put it in hour checked luggage, you won't get it past security. If you can find what you want in the area past security, I'm sure the airline will be fine with you taking it onboard in your carry on..,..
