safety regulations
does anybody know how the new safety regulations work as of April 1st?
My husband (European) entered LAX today and was told no liquids are allowed any more in his luggage (not even in the checked in suitcase)
We all know about the liquid ban in hand luggage , but isn't it going a little bit too far forbidding all liquids?

I do not know who told your husband this, but I just checked TSA website and there is no mention of this. While it certainly may be true that someone told him this, I would think if such a major change were present or pending, we would have heard about it thru media and public service announcements.

Seems like a joke.
But fliers need to take in consideration that if they purchase say a bottle of Vodka at the Duty-Free, that bottle will be no problem only for the FIRST flight. If they have a connection flight to take, and pass thru security again, ESPECIALLY IN EUROPE -- that bottle of Vodak would be CONFISCATED by the security personnel.
We had this problem in Frankfurt. And we didn't even have a bottle of Vodka, all we had was liquor-filled chocolate made in Denmark and purchased at the O'Hare (Chicago) Duty-Free... This was more STUPIDITY than any real concern for SAFETY...
