O'Hare Red Carpet Club locations

We have a longish layover at O'Hare in May (afternoon), and have a couple of passes for the United Red Carpet Club. There appear to be more than one -- three in terminal 1, and one in terminal 2. First, are these worth using up my free passes for (in terms of comfort, amenities, food served), and two, are they all the same or is one better than the others?

I don't have great info, but I just pulled my notes from my last trip through ORD:

There's a lower-level Red Carpet Club near my gate (B22
end of B concourse) as well as another RCC on other end
of B concourse). The one I'm in is quite quiet now, as
the Frankfurt flight just left. Pleasant, juice and pop
machines, usual United munchies, no cubicles, but passable
little desks with power. Wifi requires a card, which
I didn't get, and I'm too far from the entrance right now
to bother to go back and get one.

I don't actually remember this connection, but from my notes, I assume it was just a typical RCC, but bigger. The "usual United munchies" would be things like pretzels and snack mix from little dispensers, apples/oranges/bananas, pre-packaged cookies, that sort of thing. I keep my expectations of RCCs low, so I'm rarely disappointed.

FlyerTalk folks will likely have better info.

Being ORD-based, I'm in them a lot. Avoid the one in T2. I prefer the one in C just because it has big windows and you can watch planes landing/taking off, and it's the biggest one and feels more spacious. It was recently updated with new furniture and carpet. The one by B18 is the newest and is okay, but when it's crowded it seems like everyone is on top of each other (it's narrower, and seats may be closer?). The one by B6 was also updated a couple of years ago. It's spacious enough, but I find it kind of "sterile" because of the way they laid it out.

Snacks are nothing special--bagels/toast, cereal, fruit, yogurt in the morning; packaged cheese/crackers, packaged carrots dip, snack mix, fruit in the afternoon/evening. Basic alcoholic drinks are now free, but you have to pay for premium brands.

That said, there are no major differences in comfort. I usually use the one closest to the gate from which I'm departing--exception being if I'm leaving from F, I use the one in the low B concourse. Time of day can make a difference. For example, the one by B18 gets very busy before the Tokyo flight mid-day and the Lufthansa flights, which leave from the gates right there. We used that one last week and had a hard time finding places for three to sit together.

Can't really answer whether it's worth it to you. The terminals at O'Hare can get pretty crowded and not be all that comfortable for sitting around for awhile. If you want a meal, try Rick Bayless's newish restaurant in T1 between B10 & 11--Tortas Frontera. It's tiny and not inexpensive, but good!

The passes are worth nothing if you don't use them. The only really outstanding United Clubs are the ones overseas, like Narita or Hong Kong. If you're going to visit those airports, then save the passes. If not, then use them whenever you feel like it.
