NetSAAver fares on American Airlines

NetSAAver fares on American Airlines
Any regular flyers booking on AA with their NetSaver fares? Specifically, I'm curious as to the strict enforcement (or not) of the rule that one must fly AFTER 7:00 pm on Fridays.
It's been a couple years since I went via this type of fare. At that time, I'd bought the ticket with those restrictions, however did go to the airport earlier in the day and was able to get on a flight on standby basis. Because it's a cheaper fare, I don't think they are supposed to allow standby ....... have others had experience with either being granted/denied to board an earlier flight?
