Need help in online purchase of AA ff miles

I am trying to use my miles for 2 tickets on AA. One ticket will be mine and the other my husband's. When I fill out the form I put in my name and the info with my FF number. For the second passsenger I put in my husband's name and my FF number as I want the 2 tickets to be with my miles. It asks for his number ??..he does have one but it's never used and he has few miles on it...is it ok to put it in?

Flight 127 JFK to SAN Monday Sept. 19. Business class. Seats are available.

Should I call and have them do this on the phone?

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

lois, as i remember, the simplest things seem to throw you when planning your trips, so if I were you would spend the $$ that it costs to book on the phone.

Just a wee bitty confused. Are you trying to buy miles for each of your accounts, or redeem your miles for two tickets?

Assuming it's the latter, yes, they'll ask for his FF account number, but you can still use just your miles for his ticket. Having his FF account will just help them in tracking his flights, contact address, phone no. etc. However I don't think you need to put it in.

When my wife and I do this it requires BOTH

FF miles to be recorded.

AA.com folks helpful always have been kind and helpful to me

if you keep having problems.

Good luck!

Lois, I'm still confused. In your OP you said you are using miles for 2 tickets, then you replied to Gardy saying you are buying the tickets. Please help us to understand which you are doing.
