name on ticket and passport

Hello, i have a friend and her child coming to the usa to visit me. They are coming from France and i will be buying the airline ticket. Can someone please tell me what to put on the airline ticket name? Both she and her baby have 3 middle names! Do i need to put their first name, all THREE middle names and the last name on the tickets?
Thanks

I say either the complete name or just "baby". To be sure, call the airline.

It is my understanding that name omissions (as in one middle name is left off) are less of a problem than name errors - but call the airline.

Best is to scrunch all three middle names together without spaces. The computers will truncate it but that's understood by everyone and is not a problem. I've also seen people use just the first of two middles without problem.

Middle names are not a required field for air tickets but it is a required field when applying for the ESTA and APIS info that you complete after making the booking and before doing online checkin. I've just checked my eticket receipt from last month's trip to NY and it shows my first name and last name only. I have never used my middle name for any airline tickets.

I live in Europe. We don't use use middle names.
i have three first names I have never - never - used second and third.
I fly every month. Just back from China. First name last name. Have been countless times to US. First and last name.
Only on my wedding certificate on the authentic acts and maybe on my tax reports do my middle name appear.

I have never put my middle names on Esta.

>>I have never put my middle names on Esta.<< You are right, my mistake, I checked my ESTA and my middle name is not on it. It was only on the APIS info.
