Miami to London to Stuttgart with BA in Business (Club)

I used Frequent Flyer miles with BA and purchased a one-way ticked to Stuttgart, Germany for $167.00. The price was the same if you fly Business or Economy but the miles increased from 25,000 to 50,000. My flight is at 5:20 p.m. I had checked other cities in Europe and Stuttgart seemed to have the cheaper tax.

Twenty-five hours before the flight I received an E-mail from BA saying it was time to check-in. However, when trying to check in I was greeted with information on how to pay money for a seat assignment. I waited one more hour to check in and was able to print my boarding passes and move my seats (at no extra charge) to the upper deck of the 747-400. They are strict about that 24 hour check-in. They had given me the last row of Business Class on the lower deck.

I picked up an Avis rental car last night for about $27.00 and will drive to the Miami airport which is a three hour drive. More Later

Greetings from BA's shared lounge in Miami. The temperature was 98 along the drive down I-95, but the lounge is great. I found one line at security where they were not using the body scanner and got in that lane. I can't see the A380 that Luthansa uses. It takes off at 4:00 p.m. I didn't know Korean Air was flying into Miami. It took a good five minutes for me to find the alcohol and wine at the lounge. Quite nice.

I found out the Korean Airlines plane is a cargo plane only. BA did an excellent job. Fasten seatbelt sign turned off 8 minutes after takeoff and not put back on until 20 minutes to landing. The upper deck looked like new, no dirt, stains or wear that I could see. I had salmon. On the flight from London to Stuttgart on an Airbus A319, I had eggs, sausage, bacon, rolls, juice and fruit. Not bad for a one hour 30 minute flight.

Too many drinks. The flight attendant took two photos of me all lounged out in my seat and insisted that I have a full drink in my hand before they turned out the lights.

Tonight I fly from Frankfurt, Germany to Larnaca, Cyprus. The plane gets in around two in the morning. What a horrible time. I am surprised local residents allow planes to land at that time.
