Major revisions to AAdvantage frequent flyer program

Jump to last reply

American Airlines has announced major revisions to its AAdvantage frequent flyer program, including changed rules for elite status qualification, different mileage accrual rates and a revised award table, and too many other changes to list in one post. Here's the announcement: http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/programDetails/AAdvantage2016.jsp and here's the main discussion thread on Flyertalk: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-airlines-aadvantage/1725133-official-2016-aadvantage-program-changes-formally-announced.html

I guess the general consensus is "it could have been worse" and there may even be some loopholes as yet unidentified. But it's too early to draw any big conclusions.
