Lufthansa meals

We will be flying Lufthansa from Washington Dulles to Frankfurt in coach.
Does anyone know what type of meals/snacks are served in flight?
Our flight takes off at 6:00 pm and lands at 8:00 a.m. We will be on a 747-8i

Thanks

There are a ton of people who get off on taking pictures of their meals. You might also try google.

Highest number is newest addition.

Small bag of pretzels after boarding.

Hot dinner after take-off and reaching cruise altitude, usually the basic choice between chicken and pasta. Or food that is supposed to resemble chicken/beef or pasta. Complimentary alcoholic and non-alc beverages, coffee, tea.

During the night, they usually have trays with water and juices in the galleys where you help yourself. And make a few rounds thru the cabin with the trays to those still awake.

Appr. 90min before landing, you'll get breakfast.

You're welcome.

In the past, I found the flight from Dulles to Germany quite uneventful. Did not experience any hassles or major crowds at check-in, security and passport check. One of the nicer big airports to leave from, IME. Though YMMV.

As this is your first transatlantic flight, you may want to bring a bit of your favorite snack with you in case you can't really sleep on the plane and get hungry again. Ear plugs can also be helpful. But if you ever did a red-eye flight from the West to the East coast, the experience will not differ substantially.

If it interests you, you can also check out the special website from Lufthansa on its 747-8
http://747-8.lufthansa.com/en#/b747/experience

As this plane is the brand new model, it should be a nice experience - the usual restraints on comfort in eco set aside.

Breakfast will be pitiful, especially for serious coffee drinkers, but no more pitiful than any other transatlantic flight. This is only a problem if yo are making a connection after your flight and don't have time for food on arrival

I took that exact same flight in 2011. Like all airplane food in coach the food is adequate but not gourmet cuisine. It never hurts to bring snacks.
