Lost my job

After 9/11 at American Airlines. I thought I might be called back up as things were getting better, but they still have no place for me. Old supervisor said the airlines are trying to shift all bookings to the internet as it costs them less than I do. I guess people don't need people anymore.

Have you tried applying at other airlines? Im sure you probably have. Maybe this is your calling to somthing different and better...? I think alot of us have been affected in many different ways. Alot of us are struggling still. Hang in there, we can only go up from here.

I worked for Reno Air when American bought them. They moved me to Las Vegas and then 3 weeks later shut down the company and let us all go. Reno was a great company to work for and AA made all sorts of promises they wern't interested in keeping. I know now they just wanted the routes. Las Vegas is okay, but I want to go back to Tucson. I will when I save enough $$.

As a Tahoe native that now lives in the Palm Springs area, I mourned the acquisition of Reno Air by American. I used them all the time to go back up there to visit family. Great little airline. Exresagent, sorry about your circumstances. Hang in there and keep swinging, best of luck.

If you have computer skills they will probably cross over to computer related jobs like customer service or administrative assistants. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get moving! Check out monster.com, headhunter.net or with your state employment bureaus, scour the newspapers or take a job with a temp agency...
