Likelihood of Southwest adding flights?

Is it likely that SW will add more flights as the date draws nearer?

I'm looking to fly from Las Vegas to Buffalo and was waiting for SW to open up their schedule. I'd been looking at their previous months' patterns to do my itinerary planning and based my routing on the Oct schedule. I need to fly on Dec 31 and the dates around that have 5 to 8 flights per day but Dec 31 only has 3 flights!

Two flights arrive after close to/after midnite in Buffalo, and we were hoping to attend an annual NYE party at a friend's house that nite. The other flight is too early as I'm trying to build my own itinerary from Kona, Hawaii to Buffalo and it seemed like the best routing was a redeye KOA > HNL > LAS on Hawaiian Air on Dec 30, then taking Dec 31 SW direct flight to BUF. Problem being that most airlines do not fly directly to BUF and we were hoping to avoid more plane transfers.

Any one have experience with finding more flights as the time draws nearer? If not, looks like I will have to figure out completely different routing. I'd looked at a lot of routing options (SFO/OAK/SJC/PDX/LAX/SEA) and this one was the best. If I flew Alaska & its AA partners all the way, it is $1000+ per person. :faint:

Any insights much appreciated - enjoy-la!
