JetBlue Hub in Fort Lauderdale

Jump to last reply

Last week I flew to Quito from Ft. Lauderdale on JetBlue. From Ft. Lauderdale, JetBlue flies to many locations in Central America and the Caribbean with their longest flight to Lima, Peru.

I don't think it is a coincidence that Emirates Airlines has their check-in next to JetBlue. Most U.S. airlines hate Emirates because they lose money every year and the government bails them out. Emirates consistently receives the best airline rating in the world. However, Emirates is not a competitor of JetBlue and the two airlines work together on flights.

One would think that if Emirates flew into South Florida, they would fly into Miami, 20 miles down the road. This is not the case.

The Emirates 777-200 left Ft. Lauderdale one hour after my flight to Quito and finding a place to sit anywhere was a challenge. It appears that the Ft. Lauderdale airport has maxed out.
