Inappropriate Passenger Behavior!!
I have a new low for a flight--last week upon return from Denver to DC, the passenger next to me read hard-core pornography the entire flight, while downing six bottles of Tanqueray gin. If he wants to pickle his liver, that's not my problem. However, in such close quarters as coach it's impossible not to see what the passenger in the next seat is reading. I have no problem with what folks do in the privacy of their homes, but this wasn't the guy's home and this wasn't your average magazine. I think the airports are equally to blame because they sell the stuff. Any thoughts?

Would you have been equally offended if the person was reading a bible? Your constitution gives you the freedom to choose. Just because you think it is innapropriate to read pornography doesn't mean it is wrong. Last time I checked pornography wasn't illegal.
You have no problem with what they may do in the privacy of their own home but heaven forbid you're confronted with their choice . Are you the same type of person who says "yeah, those gays are okay as long as keep to the privacy of their own home"?
Frankly the reek from the six gins would have more offensive to me than the pornography. Any thoughts?

Read is the operative word. Read what you want, but when you have photos that can be considered offensive than there is a problem.
Individual rights should only extend to where they do not infringe on the rights of others. You have a right to not be offended. A bible is a poor choice of an example. How that could offend someone when they can't even read the words from their seat?

Come on now, people. You know that hard core pornography is not appropriate "reading" material for air travel. I bet those of you who side with the man doing the so-called "reading", are impolite, obnoxious jerks also. I say complain and be moved to another seat.

Advise the FA of the behavior or activity if you find it offensive. They have the ability to decide and take action if something is not appropriate.
Personally, I don't think we should be doing things that cause FA to become judges. I find if I do something in public that wouldn't be offensive to my mother or daughter it is usually ok to do.

I've heard this post before, troll....but I'll bite. I would first ask to see the mag after him, but since you find it offensive, I'd ask to be moved. If you can't be moved, then tough luck. He has every right to read the porn mag as you do wearing your perfume or reading your TIME magazine. It's freedom of expression and speech. What magazine was it? Hustler? Backdoor Beauties? Black Tail? Do tell.....

This very topic was discussed at great length on this forum a year or so ago.
One of the points was that such people are reading that stuff _in public_ ON PURPOSE. They very well know that someone is sitting quite close to them and can certainly see what they are reading. What this guy was doing was one step away from unzipping himself to show off his inadequacies, and it was INTENDED to be offensive, or in some sick way, inviting.
Nowthen, if you are posting this to get a fight going about whether porn should be sold in airports, that's a stupid sort of a troll. If you are asking whether you should have had to deal with this guy next to you, and you are a female, that's another issue. And if you are a male, it's yet another issue.
(Also: I assume by "six bottles of Taqueray" you mean six of those little bottles that are just shy of a shot? How on earth did he manage to talk the flight crew out of 6 drinks? Or did he bring it with him?)
