I'm looking at a Continental flight from Vancouver, BC to Panama City at the beginning of August. I'd have 1hr2mins for my connection in Houston, approximately between 2 and 3pm. Just going on what I've found online: I think my baggage would be sent through without me having to pick it up in transit, AND there is a somewhat shorter international transfer line in immigration, two points in my favour (if that information is correct...?).
I'm also told all international Continental flights operate in and out of terminal E, so I will only be in that terminal. I think? Also helpful, if true.
I will have my two children with me - they are 8 and 4. Ie: I'm probably not going to be able to leg it! Though that might be moot because how much can one leg it when standing in various queues?
Is it long enough? I mean, one would hope that the airline wouldn't offer it up as an option if it weren't physically possible to make it, but then again....! I thought fellow travellers might give me a more realistic opinion. My other flight options all involve a less hurried transfer, but in the middle of the night with two exhausted children - not ideal. So, if I can make this transfer or not is kind of a deal-breaker as far as this trip goes!
Thank-you!

You will go through US immigration and customs in Vancouver (YVR), and you will not go through any immigration, customs or security in Houston. You will not claim bags either. Just go from one gate to another.
YVR-IAH and IAH-PTY are both mainline flights, so both will use one of the gates at Terminal C or E.
Here's the terminal map:
http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/airport/maps/iah.aspx
Between most gates in C/E, just walk. But if you're connecting between C14-C27 AND E10-E24, then you should ride the TerminaLink tram between C and E.
62 minutes is enough time.
[You need to get to YVR earlier because of the time needed to go through US immigration and customs there.]
Thank-you! I knew that about YVR; it just completely slipped my mind (as I haven't flown to the US from there since 1996).

No security at all? I can hardly believe it!
