We need to cancel a flight on Vueling due to medical problems. We bought the "cancel for any reason insurance" at the time of booking. I have sent numerous emails but get bizarre , unrelated answers back. I tried calling, no number listed for US, so used"rest of world." A message came on saying calls weren't accepted from my area. Any other suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! I am in Pacific time zone ( 9 hrs time difference to continental Europe) as far as calling hours. HT

Use Skype to call their European number. It's free or almost free.

I'm in pacific time zone as well. I call the UK and Europe all the time -- just call early in the AM your time. I'd just call their regular German #.

I saw phone numbers for the UK and assumed the main ones were for Spain. So I will try to call or skype the German one. Thanks. I have canceled all the little and big reservations for six weeks of independent travel in Italy except for this one. Vueling doesn't make it easy.

OOPS, Jeeze Louise . . .(!) I have no idea where the "German" came from. I had posted a response to another thread about Germany is the only thing I can think of

Well actually Spain is better as I speak Spanish but no German. It is so easy to cancel flights with US carriers. This is so difficult and a hassle for something one should be able to do easily online.

mrwunrful, it lets you change your flight, not cancel. The phone numbers list xountries and US is "rest of world" I tried it but a message said calls not accepted from my area. Frustrating.

In that case, contact your insurer. I assume that the ticket is non-refundable. Maybe cancelling gets you some taxes back, I dunno. Other than that, I don't see how an insurance company would look at a no-show differently from a cancelled ticket. Are you assuming or do you already know that they won't reimburse a ticket unless it is cancelled before the flight?

I assume and don't know insurer's name. Have to dig deeper for that.

Insurance was sold by Vueling at time of purchasing ticket.

I looked at the Vueling website and it shows where you can look at the insurance that they offer and when I looked a bit further at the cancellation information it had several phone numbers and a website to file a claim for the insurance. Also, did you get all the insurance information included with your e-ticket when you booked the flight? That usually has all the information you need for filing a claim. I have booked insurance through other airlines before and they always come with all the insurance information. This would be your proof of buying the insurance so I assume it was e-mailed to you.
