How do I book AA award flights using two different account numbers?

Help! We're trying to book tickets on two flights using our individual accounts for miles. The system keeps wanting to charge all the miles to the same account. We've been using 2 computers and going back and forth between the desks, but there must be a better way.

Call and get the AA agent to book them for you.

Can't get through because of the very high traffic volume due to the east coast storms.

using one computer you can login using 2 different browsers and switch back and forth as you step through the process.

But can you put them both on the same record locator, which is what I think Underhill wants to do? I don't think you can do that. I think you have to get two separate reservations if you're using two different miles accounts.

You can put one reservation On Hold while you go into the other account and book the second reservation. This is what I did for our Hawaii flights last year.

I then called AA later and had the two reservations linked so if there were any changes, we would "hopefully" end up on the same flights, adjoining seats, etc.

Fortunately, we had no issues.

Or use the one account to book you both together on the way out and the other account to book you both together on the way back. I believe that AA still "charges" miles based on each direction so two one way tickets don't cost more miles than a round trip.

I do this often -- put both trips on hold using which ever account has more miles or status. You can hold award tickets for days on AA. Then call later and sort it out with an agent. laurie_ann's suggestion will work as well.

I do that as well - do two one ways ad take one set from each account. then we are guaranteed to be on the same PNR.
