Global Entry Program and TSA PreCheck Question

I am confused. IF we get Global Entry program, does that automatically enable us to use TSA PreCheck Program as well? Or do we have to apply separately for each program?

While the majority of our travel is domestic travel within US, we do fly to Europe about once a year. We are also planning on some longer, multi continent trips in the next few years.

I keep reading each website and can't figure out if I need to pay $100 for GE and then a separate $85 for PreCheck.

Thanks for helping me decipher what is probably a simple thing that I am over complicating.
