EWR Connection

On Thursday, me and three people are flying PIT-EWR-FCO. Our flight from Pittsburgh is a CO Connection Q400 flight (If I remember right, that flies into terminal C). It arrives around 7:30 p.m, and our Rome flight flies out at 10 p.m. Can we make the connection? I'm well aware of how bad Newark airport can get.

If the PIT-EWR flight really arrives in Terminal C (small chance could be A I think) you should be totally fine, since the EWR-FCO flight surely will depart out of C. If you arrive in A you may or may not need to exit security, take the AirTrain to C, and go back through security. Some airports have a shuttle that avoids having to re-check through security, not sure about EWR (doubt it).

I always worry about my connection no matter how much time I have, but a 2:30 connection time seems plenty. Otherwise, you'll have to schedule a really long layover and if you're on time, you'd be stuck at EWR for hours and hours. Not fun just before a long flight overseas.

That's a generous connecting time. The PIT-EWR flight landed today at C, gate 111, on the middle of the three wings of C. Your FCO flight departed today from 125 on the next wing over in C. You really should not have a problem.

It looks like your flight arrives at Terminal C and the connecting flight departs Terminal C. Assuming you will already have boarding passes for the ongoing flight and do not have to go through security again, you should do just fine.

You can check arrival/departure gates the day before on Continental's website, but always subject to change at the last minute.

I wish you all the best. With Newark, you just never know what can go wrong, and you can't go by what happened today or yesterday.

You should be fine, unless the PIT-EWR is cancelled. If there's big delay at EWR, the FCO flight will also likely to be late too.

rkkwan: That's what I was thinking. I know that both flights should be in Terminal C and what gates those flights usually are, but I was concerned about delays.
