EasyJet
I would like a direct flight from Naples to Venice. EasyJet is the only carrier I can find that offers direct.
All of Alitalia's flight have layover in Rome.
Does anyone know of any reasons I should be hesitant to use EasyJet?

I've flown with easyJet a number of times. No complaints, and I saved a ton.
It's a typical budget airline, meaning that the fare is built from the bottom up, usually rockbottom (like, recently, CHF80 BSL-LIS R/T!).
Then you pay for what you need (if anything) - if you want to know what seat you'll be sitting in, you pay for the seat reservation. If you don't care, you go and get a seat assigned at the airport, for no extra charge.
If you have baggage, the baggage fees are explained here:
https://www.easyjet.com/en/help/bagg...d-hold-luggage
Overall the fees and conditions are here:
https://www.easyjet.com/en/terms-and-conditions/fees
This all takes a little getting used to for folks who are used to paying for a plane ticket where all kinds of things are included in the fare, but since the basic fares with easyJet (and others like it) are usually so low, it turns out to be a fair deal - you only pay for what you need.

Yes, be sure to read all the instructions on the easyJet website. Pay in advance for the extras; check in on-line well in advance. And the restriction of carry-ons to one bag means ONE: Not a shoulder bag and a purse and a computer. Every easyJet flight I've taken has had passengers on the floor around the departure gate frantically trying to stuff their accessories into a single bag. Follow the rules and the flight will be great value for money.

> There are no check in desks for Easyjet anymore, not since 2013. Check in has to be done online, the desks at the airport are for bag drop only. When you check in online, the seat is automatically assigned (unless you have purchased a seat reservation.)

Another vote for Easyjet. Still prefer them over Ryanair.
Re: luggage restrictions.. read the link michelhuebeli provided carefully.
The "ONE piece rule" is not as 100% solid as it sounds.
You get a 2nd (smaller) item when you buy preferred (and more costly) seats.
And you can ALWAYS take your duty free goods in an extra bag on board, regardless if you bought pricier seats or did the free seat assignment.
You can check-in online and print your boarding passes 30 days before departure. So you don't have to worry about finding a printer when traveling.
Or download your boarding passes with the app.

None unless as said above you cannot read.
Most attendants are even nice, I only met a few who could have been guards at Dachau. only a few.

I paid for Preferred twice lately and was invited to the front of the boarding line, leapfrogging an enormous line of waiting pax. Almost felt guilty, but only almost... Still had a ridiculously low fare, even with luggage, and all went well.

Be very very aware of their hand luggage rules.. one bag only and they do walk down the waiting line making sure this is adhered to. On my recent flight to Barcelona they were making many people consolidate their luggage who were trying to flout these rules ( and save themselves paying checked luggage fees)
That aside I would fly them no problem but yes I would pay for priority boarding.

no, presuming you can read and know the rules which are clearly disclosed. Why do you ask, anyway? It's a major airline.
Nowadays, calling them a typical budget airline because the fare is built from the bottom up doesn't mean much as many big airlines charge separate fees for all kinds of things, also, like bag check or seat reservation.

No Christina, it is still a TYPICAL budget airline - the fare is built from the ROCKBOTTOM up, not like the legacy airlines that drop the new "basic economy" fare by some piddly amount from the already expensive regular fares and then get that money back if you happen to need one of the items the new "basic fare" doesn't include.
That's an entirely different deal from the TYPICAL budget airlines or LCC - Ryanair, Spirit, easyJet, etc.
