Easyjet

Does anyone know if Easyjet fares fluctuate on different days? I've been watching a fare from Naples Italy to London in September, and it has gone up drastically. I'm not sure whether to book it at the high price (175Euro!!) or hope that it might come down. The website says "only 6 left at this price" ... the other day the fare was 165Euro and said only 4 left at this price. Help!!

easyJet's site gives you a three-day or three-week grid of prices and a key to the lowest prices throughout the year. You can see that each day is priced individually. Do you mean will the fare get lower for a specific day? Very unlikely. Prices start low and rise according to demand. Your own example suggests that the flight you are after has seen high demand so why lower the price?

It is frustrating because the flight from London to Naples is only 67Euro but the other way has gone up to 175! A travel agent told me that we were traveling on the shoulder season (Sept. 16) so depending on demand it could go back down. Just wondered if anyone had experience with Easyjet... I guess I'll bite the bullet and pay the 175Euro because it could continue to go up!

We have traveled on EasyJet several times, and from my experience that €175 price is unlikely to go down.

I think what happened was that when you saw the €165 fare and there were 4 seats left, those were grabbed and so the system switched to the next fare....€175.

Also sometimes I see a fare, for example, €68 and when I try to book 3 seats, the fare per person goes up to the next level. It turns out that there are only 1 or 2 seats available with that fare, and since I need 3 seats, they shift the fare to the next higher level for all of us.

EasyJet starts with a low fare with x number of seats, and as the seats are sold, the next fare level comes up with y number of seats and so on.

Just a tip for all travelers, if you are watching a fare always clear your cookies before revisiting any booking sites, if you have looked up the same fares more than once, they will always go up

I think that travel agent is either uninformed or just dumb/negligent. The fare almost certainly will not go down.

Like others have said, the pricing model for many LCC in the world is that the price only goes up as the plane fills, and won't go down. Also want to add that what the flight in the other direction cost has zero relevance in the pricing on this flight you want to get.

Low cost airline flights rarely go down. especially September.. which is a HUGE travel month. is there another airport not far from naples that another low cost airline flies from that has a better rate? is it worth it to go to a different city ( if you are not pressed for time).. enjoy that town and take the flight there? It 's so easy to get around in Italy.. you may be surprised.

Look at whichbudget.com and a flight map of low cost airlines to see what might be out there.
