Dreamliner

We are planning on flying the Dreamliner on an ANA Tokyo to Seattle segment for our trip in November (Houston to BKK ( 5 days) , BKK to MNL (5 days) then , MNL to Houston via Tokyo and Seattle.
We will be using United FF miles (economy). My question is- it is easy to select seats at the time of booking for the ANA segments. The United site does not show seat plans so would I be able to go on the ANA site and plug in my United confirmation number and then pick my seats? What has been your experience in this regard. Also flying from Tokyo to Seattle is there a preferred side of the plane that I should pick my seats?

Good thing I posted this on the Asia forum as well as I received quite a few responses there as compared to none here!

Huh? Is there a joke hiding there somewhere that is just don't get? Otherwise, one can post similar (or identical) threads on multiple boards if the topic fits . . .

BillT: The destination forums are MUCH more active than this one so it makes sense you got more response on Asia. But I was surprised when you didn't get a response here (I didn't know the answer so didn't post when I first saw the thread)

Don, cross-posting is fine. Posting while cross is not so fine. ;-)

Did that route last November. The Dreamliner is fabulous! There was a Boing engineer on our flight (as a passenger), and he explained all the special features of the aircraft to my spouse. It was fascinating. Even on a long flight like this, the cabin is pressurized and new air circulated such that fatigue and jet lag are greatly reduced. Even turbulence (and there was some) is minimized because of the many adjustments the plane makes to compensate. Business class was excellent and the service very attentive. The economy cabin looked nice too! I have flown business on BA, Lufthansa, Air Canada, JAL,
Singapore, and some others, but this topped them all.
