My son who is twenty-two and physically handicapped just traveled alone for the first time. He was on his spring break traveling from Erie,Pa to Dallas, Fort Worth.
He was traveling on Delta and I wanted everyone to know what good care they took of him.
We took our son to the airport and they had the information on their computer that he was a passenger who was in need of assistance. Delta had someone escort him from the moment we arrived and they followed through to his destination which included one plane change.
When reading this you may be thinking that all airlines will help the disabled. Maybe so but they went out of their way to make our sons trip perfect. They escorted him to restaurants and helped out with any need that he had. They were courteous and most of all competent. If anyone is in need of assistance in the airports please dont hesitate to fly Delta.

The most important thing - next time he flies you won't worry for him as much as before!
Glad to hear your son had a positive experience on Delta, marykc. I agree with Faina that you won't have to worry the next time he travels.
It can be difficult for my parents to get around and American has always taken good care of them on their international flights to come see me, as well.
It's nice to have the peace of mind in knowing that an airline is looking out for your loved ones when it's more difficult for them to travel than most people.
