Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew the cheapest/most reliable way to get to Nepal from New York. JFK to Kathmandu? JFK to New Dehli (or Mumbai) and then to Kathmandu? None of the above? What about for a return trip? This would be around mid-September. Would now be a good time to buy?
Thank you so much!

We flew San Francisco to Chicago and then nonstop to Delhi on American. Once in India we bought tickets to Kathmandu for $80 roundtrip (Varanasi-Kathmandu-Delhi. Seems to be cheaper to buy there than here in the U.S.
Connecting in Delhi is hardly the most pleasant experience (though if you will actually be in India then buying a separate ticket to Kathmandu will probably be cheaper). Otherwise a good option is Qatar Airways, which flies from JFK to Doha and then on to Kathmandu. A random search in September (Sept 9 - 17) yields fares of about $1400 on www.qatarairways.com. This seems like a pretty good deal to me considering that fares to Delhi alone are often in this range. Other good airlines based in the Middle East, like Etihad, also fly to Kathmandu I believe.
Thank you both! Very helpful.
