Cathay Pacific (HKG-BKK and reverse) in biz

Jump to last reply

I'm heading back to Bangkok on a very short trip in just a couple of weeks. I really don't like United's new plan to try to get folks to fly to Narita and then take ANA on to Bangkok. I fly UA from Ohare to Bangkok, and through the years have usually gone by way of NRT. I see that UA now has an offering from ORD-HKG and then on to BKK on Cathay Pacific. I've purchased a business class ticket on this route and look forward to trying CP's business class offering. What was the biggest surprise when I booked was that Narita was not the first option, nor the second or third. Flying via NRT was quite a ways down the list of flight options. In past years, it was NRT first, and always the cheaper option. Not anymore. The HKG options, combined with CP, is the cheapest fare these days. I'm liking that option!

Now, I do realize that I am not earning any FF miles/PQMs, PQDs, PQSs on my Cathay flights, but the distance is not long, so I shall bite the bullet and not complain.

So, any opinions on CP in business class? I'm sure it will be just fine.
