Can we check luggage thru 3days before we leave?

We will be in Oahu for the month of Feb. We would like to take another 3days after leaving Oahu to see the Big Island. We do not want to lug our luggage but just take a backpack for those few days. What can we do with our luggage? I've already checked the Honolulu airport and they have no lockers. Is there a way to check our bags thru to our home destination?

No.

You could Fedex or UPS them.

Thanks Ackislander
Do we need to put the luggage in boxes to do this? Or will they ship the bags as they are?

I do not know if my suggestion is possible, but perhaps your Oahu hotel might hold your luggage for those three days. That is not an unusual service to offer.

If they would, it would mean a trip to town and back.

Since 9/11, luggage storage has become a problem, as no doubt you well know.

Thanks AAFF I'll look into the LuggageFree service and compare prices with Fedex and UPS. I'm glad to hear I have some options.

George, I wish that were an option but we have rented a cottage on the north side of the island. I'm sure the owner would permit us to store our bags in her home(she lives on the property) but it would be a far drive to pick it back up after returning from the Big Island and then to drive back to Honolulu to catch our flight back home. But, thanks for thinking!

Guess what everyone, after checking rates, the good ole United States Post Office is the cheapest. They will ship a 20pound bag to our home for $30.00!

Thought others might be interested to know that.
