Late Jan Tues afternoon stuff goes on sale...
I'm pretty sure that at least Qantas, but not sure about other carriers in those markets, use a longer booking window than other airlines - 360 days instead of 330, so you might start looking at fares now, watch for a month or so to see if things move dramatically in either direction.
It might help to know where you're flying from (Los Angeles? London?) and if you plan on multiple stops. Also class of service (economy, premium economy, business/first?) and so on.
The "fly on Wednesday" etc. advice linked above (rules of thumb for some, old wives' tales to me and others) don't really apply to intercontinental travel. Whose Wednesday?
