Best/Worst Seats on Planes
I remember some time ago I heard that there were seats to avoid and choice seats on airplanes regarding legroom and comfort. Does anyone know where I can find a list of the best and worst seats on different aircraft. I will be on an Iberia flight soon on an MD 80 and they assign seats at the airport so any help on at least what kind of seats to avoid would be helpful. Thanks.

Go to the website of respective airline and look at seating chart. I don't like being near bathrooms or babies. If you are clear about this at check in you usually can avoid. Always ask where basinets for babies are kept. If you enjoy looking out window don't sit over wing.

Also the seats in front of the lav don't recline, either.
Most airlines withold the bulkhead and exit row for their "gold" level and above frequent flyers. These seats are released the day of travel if they are unreserved. So make sure you're on time for check in and make a request.
Good Luck,
Bobbi

Go to your public library and get a back issue of Consumer Reports Travel Letter. They do an annual review of best/worst seats for domestic and selected int'l carriers. I believe the review is done each September. It may be available online; however, the CR site is subscription-based for online use. Yes, even if you have a subscription to the physical magazine, you must pay for online use. I get the library issue, photocopy the article, and consult it prior to making flight plans.

just came back from london. flew the new 777 both ways. best seats we every had were the two seats in FRONT of the loo (window and aisle).
they DID recline and the best part was that no one was sitting behind you - like a kid that is allowed to use your seat for a play gym or other older people that think the back portion of your seat is a device made just for them to get up and down in there own seat - very annoying.

ga, I know who you are....you are the person who always reclines their seat and makes the rest of us have to form our bodies into a backwards C just to be able to get out of seats and into the aisle. And then you give us dirty looks because we have to grab hold of your seatback so we don't fall over.
I wish you would stay home.

My favorite seats are aisle and the last 3 rows in the airplane right next to the bathroom. I take alot of Dramamine because I get sick on flights. This med causes me to want to go to the bathroom and I don't want to have to maneuver around the flight attendants to get there.
