Best time and way to book trip to Vietnam -

There will be four of us flying to Vietnam from Ohio/PA sometime late October. Can anyone provide any advice in terms of air consolidators to use. Also do you think that if we wait until after Labor Day we may get better rates? We are semi flexible on dates

Pam

You will be flying halfway around the world so I don't think you are going to find bargain airfares. For this sort of travel, I would suggest a Travel Agent who specializes in this part of the country.

This is one destination that I wouldn't want to do myself. Get to a travel agent for help pronto. I hope you have signed up for an escorted tour of Viet Nam. I would look into a tour with air to get you around the area.

kkj - do you also need your mommy to wipe your nose too?

Of course Vietnam is fine to travel in without having to join a tour.

I echo a previous poster's suggestion to approach a travel agent which specializes in SEA destinations. If you're in a big city, check into travel agents in the neighborhood where many Vietnamese immigrants have settled in.

To ??? -- no I don't need my Mommy. Nice retort because you don't agree with someone.

Have you ever taken an escorted tour? They are not just for the old, they are for people who do not want to have things taken care of for them. It would seem to me that going to a country where tourism is still so new would lend itself to a tour. How else would you know what you want to see? Would you suggest that perhaps someone spend the next two months reading books etc. to see what there is to see. Tours are greeat to take the work away from you. They are similar to taking a cruise except that you are on land instead of the sea. And, shore excurions or sightseeing is included instead of optional.

By the way, I don't believe that my post mentioned anything about the area being unsafe.
