We are thinking of flying BA World Traveller Plus to the UK next month as we have used Virgin Premium Economy before and it was fine and the seats wide and comfortable. Has anyone flown BA World traveller Plus - how do they compare the the Virgin Premium Economy or the "old" Business seat? Thanks.

Hi Rochelle,<BR><BR>Having flown Virgin PE and having a look at the seat map on British airways , if the Virgin flight was on a 747-400 i would definately prefer Virign as it is on the upper deck and seated in a 2-2 formation which gives a feeling of privacy (only 20 people in the cabin plus a few further ahead in Upper Class).<BR>On British airways you will be on the main deck ( wider seats and a separate cabin ) and generally located over the wing so it is probably a bit noisier. I do not think you get pre take- off champagne on British airways and I do not think you get a separate check in or priority baggage handling(you check in with the rest of the economy passengers whereas Virgin has a separate queue.) <BR>BA WT+ will be a step above standard economy and should be fine.<BR><BR>Regards<BR>Gregory

I flown BA and Virgin and although both are good I would go for Virgin. The service is better and you have a little more room.

I'm flying a Virgin 747-400 in PE later this month. Currently, I'm in Row 71. Which has better legroom--the row I'm in; or Row 70, the bulk head. Thanks.

Rochelle<BR><BR>Virgin is far better than BA - separate check in and other levels of service put its premium economy service way above BAs.<BR><BR>Traveller - either seat (70 or 71) is fine - no difference (I prefer to NOT look at a Bulhead but its personal choice)<BR><BR>Flying PE to NY next week - so much nicer than coach......! Can't wait.<BR><BR>

Hi traveller<BR>On my PE 744-400 flight row 70 was the emergency exit row on the upper deck and as such it would have more leg room than 71. ( I thought those seats were only allocatable at check in?) Ahead of the emergency exit is the upper class cabin and the cabin crew seats for take off/landing.<BR>The seating configuration may differ on flights to/from Gatwick

We just came back from the UK via Virgin Premium Economy and I would like to report to this list since I recruited your input before we left. Going over we were on the top deck and it was far superior to our return down below. It's just a much nicer experience, quieter, feels roomier, the service was better, we had our own rest room, and those cubbies next to the window are super! In general, we thought PE was great except for the recline on the seat. It felt a lot like coach to me. Leg room was great, width wasn't an issue, and we don't need all of the food they throw at you in typical Business Class.. So, if you can get comfortable without really reclining and don't want to eat for six hours, you'll be extremely happy with Virgin PE. BTW, the check-in was swell, the priority luggage even better.. our bags were among the first off the plane!<BR><BR>Cheers!

Agree totally with XXX above. Going Stateside from the UK on PE is great (we too were upstairs on their brand new 747-400) Loads of space and personal service.<BR><BR>Coming back on an Airbus A340 was a different experience. Not as much room and it felt a lot more cramped than the 747. I know its a smaller plane but I did feel that it was a smaller seat with less leg room - can anyone confirm this?<BR><BR>Again, we loved the quick check-in and the priority baggage - definitely worth the extra pennies!<BR><BR>
