AMerican airlines cancelled flight/

Jump to last reply

My husband was booked on an american airlines flight from LGA to Cleveland at 4:30 pm yesterday august3rd.They cancelled it without any reason and rebooked on the flight next(today) morning at 8:30 with a connection which will take 7 hrs instead of a 1.6 hr flight, expected to reach today afternoon around 20 hours later than yesterday. He is on the airport for 16 hours now..The airline would not entertain any request for accomodation ..now they say it was weather but between 4:30 to 9:30 pm, there were other flights which left from the same LGA airport to cleveland including continental .I fail to understand how the weather was a problem for one airline and now many others. There were also flight from LGA to columbus ,near cleveland which actually took off during the same time but my husband was denied as that was overbooked...The weather in cleveland and columbus is hardly ever different and I know cleveland was as sunny as could be.I feel the airlines just put all blaims on whether when actually it is their problem.

Can anybody suggest me how to succesfully address this matter with the american airlines.
