Alitalia Claim

I had a horrible experience with Alitalia - they lost my luggage both ways among other issues - and now five months later I am still trying to get a response from them. I know they are legally obligated to reimburse me for the essential items I had to buy while I was abroad without my luggage for a week and for the luggage they returned destroyed, but I am not getting any kind of a response. I have emailed, called, and even gone back to the airport in desperation but have received no response. If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated!
