Airfare for Budapest May 2015
I will be touring Budapest, Vienna and Prague early May 2015. I am wondering when I can expect airfare sales to start for that time period? Right now fares are running close to $1400 roundtrip (coach) from the West Coast. How much lower can I expect fares to go?

Betty, Are you telling me you paid $2600 RT coach for one person? Granted, I have not flown to Europe in almost two years but I have never paid over $1000.00 per ticket on sale. Have prices really gone up that much?

Sorry, no, I said "we" paid -- meant it cost the two of us around $1300 per person. Should have been more clear.
Over the past few years, I have found that fares to Europe are typically $1100 - $1300 pp in May and/or September, at least from IAH.

Use this link to view prices on all the airlines over a period of up to a month.
www.matrix.itasoftware.com
Keep an eye on it for a few days or weeks and you'll soon get an idea what the price range for your destination will be. You can't book tickets on this site; go directly to your airline of choice to do that.

I just checked the US Airway website and their prices are unbelievably cheap to fly from the West Coast to Budapest but given they are rated the worst airline and the reviews are dismal at best,I will not be booking a trip with them. I don't need anymore problems in my life. They do codeshare with American and British Airlines who operate the flights but it is still US Airways running the show. Besides, my travel insurance will not cover any flights on American. I am waiting for Delta/AMS to lower their fares.
