Whichever has less expensive air fare. We used both many, many times. They both are fine.
Unless you want the frequent flyer miles with Continental, I would pick Air France for the free drinks in coach. Continental makes you pay $5.00. Continental can also be very conservative about turning off the Fasten Seat Belt sign, so when they do finally turn it off, everyone needs to get up and use the restroom. Check www.seatguru.com and find out if the planes have the seatback television screens.
I'veflown both and would choose Continental for their sperior service and more comfortable seats. By way of full disclosure, I am a CO FF so may get some nier treatment, but the AF staff is legendary for being curt or worse.
Every time we fly AF we find flight attendants very professional, pleasant and helpful. We chose Continental or Air France depending on a price and connection times, never took under consideration free drinks.
Ronnie, compare prices and schedules then decide.
Continental's 777's are excellent. They all have personal video monitors on each seat and comfertable coach seats.
We just flew AF direct from Boston. It was a great flight. We flew in an Airbus. The seat configuration was 2-4-2 and we had individual seatback screens. The flight attendants were gracious and professional. The food was good; better on the return flight. Drinks; aperitif, drink with meal and after were included if you so desired. We would choose them for France. I have flown Continental domestically and always been satisfied with those flights.
The last time I flew Continental, they woke everybody up at 4:00 a.m. to announce on the PA that alchol can only be consumed when purchased for $5.00 from a flight attendant. Go with Air France!
According to www.airlinequality.com, Air France is a four star airline and Continental is a three star.
If a three star hotel room was the same price as a four star hotel room, which would you pick?
