Advance seat selection

Recently I posted about a problem with advance seat selection on a Delta/KLM itinerary, where the seat choices were lost for all four flights. I am pleased to report that the partner airlines not only acknowledged the e-mail I sent them, but did so with both a personal phone call and individual e-mail response. A decent number of frequent-flyer points were also posted to my account even though I had not asked for any compensation.
It's easy to find lots of complaints about airlines on travel forums so it is only fair to say that I feel my relatively minor problem has been treated in a reassuring manner.
