AA - US merger being challenged

USDOJ and six states plus DC are opposing the American - US Airways merger on the basis that it will reduce competition and result in fewer flights, higher prices.
Well, of course it will! Maybe not at first, but eventually. Hard to drum up a lot of sympathy when revenue and profit are up, due in no small part to the fees introduced for everything from seat assignment to checked (maybe even carry on) baggage.
