6 Hour Layover at IAD

I have a six hour layover at IAD. Are there any places to go to in this timeframe before my next flight leaves or should I try to get a "day room" at a hotel near the airport? Thanks.

There's the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Shuttles available from IAD.

Dulles isn't really near anything other than the Air and Space Museum. Do check to make sure it's open (it was closed for maintenance for a bit, but I think it's open again). I'm not sure if you're flying internationally, but depending on day/time - getting through security to get back in can be interesting.... If you have the full 6 hours - plenty of time for a nice trip to the Museum......

I decided to get a day room to spend my 6 hours as I have an 8:30a.m. flight from MIA then 6 hours at IAD until I leave at 5:45 for Johannesburg. I think resting and relaxing will be good before my 15 hour flight. Thanks for your help and advice.
