2 airlines baggage transfer

Looking at flying to Maui from Minneapolis with a plane change in Portland. On Delta's website it says the flight from Portland to Maui is operated by Alaska Airlines and not Delta. Since the booking of everything is with Delta (I assume this makes it a 'single' ticket?), when I check in at Minneapolis with Delta will they also check me in on the Alaska Airlines flight and check my bag all the way through to Maui, or will I have to claim my bag and re-check in with Alaska Airlines in Portland? Just wanting to make sure of things. Thanks!
