Yellow Fever Vaccine for Southern Africa

Jump to last reply

The yellow fever vaccine is no longer needed for South Africa, correct? I know that there are previous posts on this and I've done some research myself, but I know that things can change. We will be arriving in South Africa from the US, then will fly to Botswana and spend a few days there, during which we plan to visit Victoria Falls (not sure yet if we will go to both sides or just Zambia or Zimbabwe), and then we will reenter South Africa to fly back to the states. The CDC website, which I usually consult for travel medical questions, says that you need it, but sites based in South Africa as well as the WHO that you do not. I assume the WHO trumps all here and we don't need it. Correct?
