I'm taking a trip to Dubai and Ethiopia at the beginning of February. I travel a lot for work and have a ton of Hilton points, so I am looking to use them for accommodations in Dubai. However, there are two Hilton properties in Dubai - one in Jumeirah Beach and the other in Deira. Which area has more to do? I am a 35-year old woman and am going with two girlfriends. We're more interested in seeing authentic Dubai (to the extent that even exists!) than we are in a beach resort. Thanks!!
Where to stay in Dubai?

HI. I just wanted to make a suggestion. I know it is not a hilton property, but we stayed at the Jumeirah Bab Al Shams Desert Resort for 1 night to check it out. It is about 45 min. into the desert and a great location. They have a very nice pool, dunes for miles right next to the pool with free camel rides and falcon demonstrations. They also have an over the top buffet at their outdoor restraunt down the road. There is live belly dancing and traditional dancing and great food. I think the bread was some of the best I have ever had. Anyway, it might deserve a night or two. If you go during the summer the rates are much cheaper. It is a nice diversion from the city.
I stayed in Deira on my trip to Dubai, and I really like it -- its a much more Middle Eastern area than Jumeirah, which feels like Miami Beach. Deira has the souks, is right on the creek and has lots of inexpensive Middle Eastern restaurants -- I would definitely stay in that area again.
Thank you!
