What to wear in Morocco

My sister and I are traveling to Madrid and Morocco (mostly Marrakesh) in April. Any suggestions for what we should wear to attract the least amount of attention?

As for Morocco, I can tell you what NOT to wear.
Stay away from tank tops, short shorts or otherwise sexy and provocative clothing.
I spent 3 weeks travelling through Morocco last September and made do with cropped pants or medium length skirt and short sleeved tops. Sandals are ok also.

My family spent two weeks driving around Morocco last December. My 25 year old daughter and I stuck to pants and t -shirts wih sweaters. We loved Morocco and found that if you wore pants with a conservative top you were fine.

Dark conservative long non-revealing/provocotive

clothing plus head scarves to show respect in sensitve

religious cultural local areas and insuremytrip.com

Always wash and remove shoes and wear head scarf for mosques

to show universal respect.

Happy Journey,

Qwovadis-the only time we wore headscarves was in the big mosque in Casblanca.(I thought that there were only 3 are allowed for visits?) Non Muslims are not allowed to go into the mosques so am confused about what to wear.

Kimmerstravels-use common sense on clothing and you will be fine. You see EVERYTHNG on tourists over there-some good ,some not so good.We found our travels there to be so easy compared to Egypt.

modest conservative western clothing is fine in morocco - pants, skirts, blouses...
although you may see tourists in shorts, i would refrain from wearing any skin baring clothes out of respect for the culture.

you are not expected to cover your head when visiting the hassan mosque in casablanca.
my driver was very surprised and assumed i was a muslim when i wore my scarf.
