Am going to Dubai in 3 weeks. Planning on doing the Jumeriah Mosque tour. Otherwise fairly casual. Is dinner more formal?Syating at the Ritz. I know it is very Western in Dubai. Wondering what to pack? Thinking some shorts and definitely linen and pants and long sleeve shirt for the mosque. Never dealt with extreme heat any suggestions from those with experience appreciated
What to wear in Dubais heat?

You'll get lots of advice for Dubai over on the tripadvisor.com forum. Sounded like everything is heavily a/c so take a sweater with you too!
Josi-where are you coming from? I live in Doha and temps are in the low 100s (40 C) now. Light clothes, a hat to keep the sun off, and definitely second moremiles suggestion on a sweater; the air in most buildings is set on about 68 (20 C).
Fashion-wise, Dubai is about as "anything goes" as you can get in the Middle East, though the pants (or even a skirt) and long sleeves for the mosque are right on.
If you're staying at the Ritz, you can cut down your baggage by using the dry cleaning & laundry services at the hotel.
