We will be in Lusaka for a couple of days before going on Safari in Tanzania. I would like to experience a walking and night safari in Zambia but our budget is tight and I'd like to avoid flights. Is there a place near Lusaka via hiring a car or via rail where we could take a walking and night safari? Thank you.

Forgot to mention, we'll be visiting in early June.

I stayed at Lilayi, about 30 minutes from the airport, once and it was great. Quite fancy, actually.
There website does not mention night drives, but I know they used to be offered. You can ask.
They also give polo lessons there. How interesting.
