Videoing in Egypt

My husband has a good camera, but was advised by a middle eastern work colleague to take a video camera because there is so much to see. I was under the impression that many of the monuments are "no go areas" for videos? As he'd have his large Nikon, I wonder if it is worthwhile for him to lug around a video cam as well... despite them being only small these days.

Thank god for digital photos... snap, snap and snap away.. hundreds of times without the cost of photo processing skyrocketing!
