Why is it meant to be best to go rafting at the end of the year when the water levels are low? Not sure whether to go onto the Zimbabwe side, I see that Safpar operate on both sides of the Zambezi, any views?

I went with Safpar on the 4th of July a few years ago, Zambia side. The water was still too high to start at the beginning, right below the falls. I think it's rapid 7 that you cannot navigate untill the waters are lower. So that is the reason. We walked down at rapid 9 (I think it was) and took out at rapid 23. It was a great day and I can highly recommend the professional services at Safpar.
You can only enter and exit at certain points.
its the best towards end of the year when the water is low and the rapids will be very high since the level water will be prity close to the rough base of the river.
