TRIP TO EGYPT, ISRAEL, ISTANBUL AND JORDAN

4 of us are planning a trip in Oct. 2007 - to Egypt, with a Nile cruise, Istanbul for 4 days, Israel tour for 9 days and 2-3 days in Jordan. Can anyone give us pointers on what to bring/pack, what to wear (we know mostly modest dress), things we should know and places not to miss, where not to go, or anything else? Would very much appreciate it. Thanks

For Jordan--- go to Petra (1 day and stay overnight-- it is a not to be missed sight for sure), Dead Sea (1 day and stay overnight-- unless you're already doing this in Israel than forget the Jordan side), another must is Hamamat Maeen (Hot Springs-- and just beautiful scenery)- there's a nice hotel you can stay overnight and thus will have access to the Hot Springs.

For Israel-- definetly go to Jerusalem (the Old City)- to do it justice give it 3 days, go to Haifa, Yaffa (I think it's called Jaffo ?-- great Arab Israeli seafood restaurants), Akka (Ako?).

October weather will be cold but not freezing. I'd pack a light jacket and dress modestly in all three countries.

Have fun!

probably good info given there, but 2 years too late.

Someone else will probably make use of your tips, I hope.

I agree as well - helpful info. I'm trying to convince my husband that a trip to Israel would be a good idea. I spent 6 months their in 89 and it would make a great 20th anniversary. Jordan would make a good add on as well. thanks
