I've researched this on the internet and have found two answers. 1st answer - no, you do not need a visa. 2nd ansewer - yes, but pay for it/receive it upon arrival at the airport. If I do pay for it/receive it at the airport can I pay w/a credit card or does the payment have to be in local currency? Thank you in advance

You can purchase your Visa on arrival. If there is a price listed on the website, then that's the currency they wish. Credit cards are not usually accepted for payment.

We happened to have gotten out Visas before departing from the NYC Consular Office and paid in USD. Why not place a call to the Jordanian Embassy (Wash, DC) or a consular office for exact answer.

I was in Jordan in May, and you need to change money at the airport to buy the visa -- no credit cards.

Yes you can buy on arrival. No credit cards, but it is very easy to take out dinar at the ATM or change money in the same room as where you buy the visa.
