Travel Medical/Evac Insurance

I've looked over the offerings on insuremytrip.com, but because my trips are long (5-6 weeks) that rules out several options there. However, TAI (Travel Assistance International-- also known as SpecialtyRisk.com) has a policy that looks pretty comprehensive and flexible on their own website. (This doesn't show up on insuremytrip.com...wonder why?)
Has anyone used them or had any experience with them?
Thanks!

Check again - it appears Specialty Risk International is listed as an included provider under International Travel Medicine on insuremytrip. If it is the same.

Thanks Louise, I did recheck, and there are some policies from Specialty Risk ,but they are not at all the same as the policies on their own website.
Very confusing.
For example, on the Specialty RiskTAI website, they offer a comprehensive medevac/suppl medical policy for 1 year at $370 (for multiple trips) On insure my trip, there are no medevac policies from TAI!

I'm just not sure how much is enough for medevac...HTH Worldwide looks good and it offers $250K of medical but only $500,000 of medevac for $199. Vs. $1000000 medevac and only $60K of supplemental medical for TAI. Or there are the companies offering unlimited medevac but no medical at all....I'm going crazy trying to compare these things!

Take a look at Accessamerica.com for travel insurance.

This website gives a lot of good information on travel health insurance and topics like medical evacuation:

http://www.travmed.com/thg/travel_health_guide.htm

One thing you have to figure out is how much medical evacuation coverage you'll need. Are you going someplace that would be very difficult to evacuate you from? The site above estimates that a stretcher evacuation on a commercial airline costs around 7 times a regular one way ticket.
