This is my second posting. The first did not get posted in the Jordan forum by mistake.
I am interested to know whether any Fodorites have used Jordan Artist Tours. I plan to get quotes from 3 different companies for a private trip to Jordan in March for us. The other companies are Petra Moon and Desert Horizon. We would also be interested in spending a few days in Damascus. Has anyone had experience with Syria exyensions to share?

We can recommend Desert Horizon very highly - and the driver Bashar Herzalla. Link to our blog:

I just returned from a long mid-east trip that inc. Jordan, Oman and Syria. Syria was my favorite, an unknown gem of a destination, with two fantastic cities, Damascus and Aleppo, and Palymra was a stunning site as was Krak des Chevaliers. People are very welcoming and friendly, food is great, and I had a driver/guide to get around which is best if you are not in a group. 99.99%of the tourists there(and there were hundreds of Europeans) were all in groups.
